We're going on a bug hunt!

The children spent the afternoon outside exploring the school grounds.  They discussed “What is a natural object” and linked Maths with their exploration as they searched for a different number of natural objects and used them to make shapes and patterns. They found a huge collection of sticks and practised number formation with them.
They were very excited to find a number of mini beasts.  They identified the similarities and differences between the different bugs.  They learnt many new interesting facts, for example, that a woodlouse has 14 legs and a spider has 8 eyes!

Have a lovely weekend,

Amanda Corcoran
