We have had a very busy few weeks in Reception….
Last Monday we boarded the coach and set off to Aldenham County Park for our Reception class trip. When we arrived there we went on a minibeast safari and then built dens in groups. This involved lots of team work and helping each other to carry logs to build our structures. After lunch we had a play in the adventure playground and then went to look at the animals on the farm. We saw hens, chicken, goats, cows, sheep and some pigs wallowing in the mud. After this we went in search of Winnie the Pooh – we crossed the bridge and played pooh sticks and saw Eeyore’s Gloomy Place. We found Winnie the Pooh’s and Owl’s house but sadly we never did see Winnie the Pooh. We think it might have been too hot for him!
On Friday it was our Sports day and we all ran in the running race and then took part in the obstacle race. Everyone tried their best and a few of us also ran in the Relay race.
This week we have been practising very hard for our performance of Caterpillar Boogie. We have been learning our songs and words and today we performed it to some of the school and then to our families. The children have worked so hard and we are sure you will agree with us how fantastic they were today and put on a fabulous performance.
It was lovely to see so many of you at our picnic afterwards and the children loved having you in school at lunchtime. We would like to thank you all for your on-going support and the very generous gifts you gave to us today. It was very kind of you all and much appreciated.
We wish you and your families a restful weekend and only one more week to go!
