Week beginning 21st November

We have had a busy time in Reception this week. We have been working hard to develop our segmenting and blending skills to help us read unfamiliar words in phonics.

On Thursday the 24th November , we were lucky enough to have a visit from  Falconry Centre in Bedford. They brought four different owls for the children to see: Barn, Tawny, Eagle and Scops. The children all had a turn at holding the owls so that they could see them close up.They watched the owls fly around the classroom and learned about what owls like to eat and how they go and hunt for their food.

The children were very brave and enjoyed taking turns to hold one of the owls.
