Spring 2 Week 5

What a busy week we have had in Reception leading up to Easter.
The theme of this week has been 'Be Spirited'. The aim of this experience was to deepen and strengthen the spiritual journey of each and everyone in the school. The hall was transformed into a quiet and tranquil prayer space, with eight prayer stations set up giving everybody the opportunity to encounter God in a quiet, reverent manner. The children visited the prayer stations on Monday and Tuesday morning and also visited the Prayer Garden for quiet reflection.

On Monday afternoon, we talked about the Easter Story, focusing on the Last Supper. The children then role played the Last supper, using bread and wine (blackcurrant).

On Tuesday afternoon, the children made crosses out of natural materials, as a symbol of Jesus.

We had a surprise visit from the Easter Bunny on Tuesday afternoon and the children were very excited to go and find some eggs. Thank you Easter Bunny!

Thank you for your generous contributions to the Lenten boxes. On Wednesday, the children enjoyed sorting the coins and putting them on letters in the library that represented Westminster Catholic Children's Society.  In the afternoon, the children took part in various fundraising activities on the field.
