This week in Reception we have been celebrating World Week and our theme has been our favourite things. We started the week by exploring Pope Francis' encyclical (letter) with the children through the Laudato Si animation. We looked at ways we could look after our environment. The children have been learning about the seasons and made collages to reflect this on Science day. They were delighted to show their work off in our celebration assembly today. The children enjoyed bringing in and talking about their favourite toys and books. The children have loved our new Role Play area and have been acting out Goldilocks and the Three Bears story. Next week'S theme is Our Town, we will be looking at where we live and our environment. In R.E we will be continuing to look at Baptism. I look forward to meeting you at Consultation evening on Tuesday or Wednesday, where you will be able to look at some of your child's work.

This week we have been looking at feet in Reception. We have begun our new RE topic, 'Welcome' and looked at ways we have been welcomed to school; next week we will be looking at Baptism and how we are welcomed to the Church. In literacy we have talked about journeys and things we can do with our feet. In Mathematics we have been learning about time and the days of the week. The highlight of the week was our Sponsored Obstacle Race , when every child took part and participated. We also had a great turn out of parents and carers to cheer them on.Well done Everyone x
Next week our topic is Favourite Things and we ask the children to bring in their favourite toy or book for show and tell. Just a reminder please could parents make sure the reading record is signed when they hear their child read. Thank you.
Have a good weekend x
